People aren't going back to vinyl or casettes, and CDs are quickly becoming 'archaic'. I don't see e-readers falling out-of-fashion, but simultaneously I can't see books going completely away either.

Currently, there are things that are easier to read in paper-format (e.g., books which require regular referencing of maps). Others will continue to be read in paper out of necessity (e.g., Atlases) unless their users embrace replacement technology (e.g., online maps instead of physical media).

I never want to see the backside of e-readers...I simply want to see them improve again and again.

I'm keen to see where colour e-ink goes. A 10 or 12" colour e-ink reader would truly appeal to fans of graphic novels.
