I tried that but it doesn't seem to work. I figured if the tape comes off I'll get some thick fabric and make a tube out of it I can slide over the buckle.

Thank you for the tip. I'm on their website (
http://www.eaglecreek.com) but can only find money belts. But it's a good idea to check travel stores. I've been able to find belts with a wooden or leather buckle but those are always decorative belt and too wide to fit through belt loops.
I just checked the status of my Oberon cover and it's finally through customs! Hopefully it'll arrive some time this week.
