That completely depends on the owner. For me, I have about 6 books I put on a K3 without computer. And those 6 are part of a 600+ book library. The rest, I do need a PC. At least for my Sony, I simply pop the SD card, put it in the SD card slot on my PC or laptop and be done. For the K3, I need to find a cable.
