Look at Preferences:
1)Send to Device: (specifically the Template, which controls the path)
or
2)Plugins: the Kobo Driver (for your model): Again, the Template

It could be set wrongly.

Also
Send to Device (on the Toolbar) has an arrow where you can preset What storage to use on most devices (with choices).
