I consider Shogun to be the best book I have ever read! Accurate in culture and locations, the plot moves right along despite long descriptive passages. If you enjoy it, be sure to read the other three of the Asian quadrilogy, Tai-pan, King Rat, and Noble House. Do try to read them in order if you can.
