I doubt it, I really do.

Not that I feel that it is in any way, shape or form, wrong to use said marketing tactics... But one would expect a notice somewhere on the CD, a clear link to webscription page where one can purchase a title to complete the series. I found no evidence on that CD that Baen has intentionally omitted the book to generate sales.

Further, there was at least one of their CD's where a book existed on the CD, could be retrieved from the file browser, but was not linked to the HTML wrappers used to browse the content.

To err is human, and those guys have a HUGE reserves of my good will.
