I read about people protesting DRM on ebooks and never thought too much about it, until I've run across a book I would really like to read and can't. The book is Lendable for Kindle, and I've had 2 people try to loan it to me, but I get this message:
Patricia ******, this title is not available for you.

Due to copyright restrictions, the Kindle loan you've been offered is not available in your country: United States.

Did you recently move to a new country?

You can easily update your country for your Amazon account.
The book is Little Girl Blue: The Karen Carpenter Story. Amazon shows the ebook for sale but it costs $13.77! I don't know what would happen if I click on the 1-Click button, don't know if it would again tell me it's not available for me. I'm scared to try that because I don't want to pay that much for it.

Now I understand people's frustration when they encounter this type of situation. Grrrr....
