I concur, but I'd lean toward it being the cable.....I have several chargers and a couple of them charge the unit fine despite no display. (the red light is on, and it DOES charge, no display.....wall charger, not USB) But, since the original cord connected to the USB port on a computer fails to display leads me to think the cord might be TU. I'd stay away from anything mildly radical to try to solve things at this point.
