I pretty much use only interchangeable needles now, whether I'm knitting flat or in-the-round. I bought plenty of extra cables and some extra tips in the sizes I use most, and when I get too many projects on the needles I go back and remove the needle tips and put the little caps on the ends of the cables. It's helped a lot -- I pretty much can always find the sizes I need now without having to buy more needles. (My favorite ones are the Knitpicks nickel-plated tips, although I've got the wooden tips too.) |
I've got them too and it's nearly solved the problem, but this time I'm knitting wrist warmers and there's not enough stitches for even the smallest cable - perish the thought that I would have to sew anything up.
