I've also been pleasantly surprised how many times features were added to address "problems" that may have been self-inflicted user error issues raised in a fairly impolite first post as in: "Calibre did this horrible thing" or "Calibre sucks because ...."
If the "problem" can be solved (consistent with its design), it's usually been addressed by coding or by rewriting to make a warning message more clear. Even when the gut reaction to a first post might be an impolite reply, it usually gets an honest analysis, and a fix where warranted, no matter how the issue was first raised.
