When I was at Jekyll Island last week, smoke rolled in like clockwork about 4 in the afternoon, and cleared out after dawn each morning. It had apparently been happening for a couple of weeks, but I didn't know about it before I went. And I had smoke on the road last Wednesday morning for a couple of hours as I headed home, going northwest. I wonder if THAT smoke cloud was from the Okefenokee fires, since I was heading away from the coast.
