But they are allowing apps from other competitors. If they were going to block competing apps, they'd block ALL.

I doubt that, considering the nook app is only available through the official market. It isn't in SlideME, or any of the other third party markets. I don't think that B&N submitted it. If they were submitting to non "Android Marketplace" markets, it would be in other markets. There are a lot of tablets out there that do not have the official marketplace enabled (due to the manufacturer's being cheap bastards and not wanting to pay the license to allow for google apps, including market access), and B&N is missing out on all of them.
