Well. . . I'll put this down as another entry in the temple of digital wierdiness. The problem resolved itself after I "called" my PE (I've assigned a DID to my Edge, so it can recieve calls), and pressed the 'speaker' button on the in-call menu. Now I've got sound as before. I'm thinking there was some sort of internal/digital switch sending all my sound through a non-existent channel that I couldn't turn off through normal means, but that this somehow did the trick. So . . . If your speaker dies after installing ermine, try using the speaker function in the Android phone.
