I went through voir dire for a case, but ended up not getting selected so I've done my duty, at least until I get called again! Yippee!

I used to take knitting with me because sometimes there are long periods of down time, but we had a shooting in this courthouse (the Brian Nichols case) a few years ago in which a judge and several other people were killed, and security is tight now. Sometimes you can get knitting needles in, and sometimes you can't, so I put a tatting shuttle in my pocket and made a little bit of lace today. Jury duty is a great place for people watching, so even though I had my Kindle with me I never did any reading. A woman in the row ahead of me was reading on one, though.

(I'm all about the links and attachments today, huh? )
Our area is very strict also, but we are allowed to bring in newspapers and paperbooks/magazines. They frown on bringing things electronic.

Do you like to tat? I never could get into it, but my mom and I made a million lace dollies (until we couldn't give anymore away. ). During the winter, I crochet blankets then tear them apart and start again (no one we know needs any more). We did the same with quilting. I don't even like to use the dollies, crochet blankets, or quilts in my house, but I like making them.
