If shelves could sync to the online library, then you've got at least some backup. Even so, since that would probably only apply to BN purchased content and not My Documents, still not good enough, really. But at least people could transfer organization for purchased content from device to device.

I need something that I can do on my computer and backup or something that is fully backed up online for me. No one wants to have to re-do all their book organization from device to device, even within the same brand. And as I have a lot of non-purchased content, I really want organization to apply to ONE library, not segregated libraries. Folders are OK and I could work with that if I had to, but I prefer tags. Sony lets Calibre tags make collections automatically on the reader when books are transferred to the reader through Calibre. Simple and elegant.

BN's insistence on two libraries and the lack of good organization have pushed me away for now. My new Sony 950 was only $199 on clearance and I'm really glad that hubby didn't wait for the BN announcement of the new Nook to grab it for me! Smart man.

if the new nook has the same organization as the nook color then they will no longer be two libraries. They did an nice job of merging the two into one. and in it's last update it now included your sideloaded books to be added on the home pages as well.

they listened to that complain and acknowledged it.
