I believe things will change as the format is adopted by more readeers in Portugal. Not a lot of people will buy ebooks if the price is similar to paper books, except those really early adopters that value the same way both formats. My guess is that they are either probing the market for acceptance for this price policy or simply yet no aware of the sensibility of the public to this issue.
The Leya approach is very interesting and i think might be something to adopt by the other publishers in the future, though i prefer to pay less and have an electronic copy only.
I must confess i did not catch the part of shooting themselves again... i am pretty sure they had no ebook store before...
