Just finished Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese. Wow! What an incredible read!

It's long (over 600 pages), but so well written. And unlike a number of books I've read recently, the ending really wraps up all the details and is immensely satisfying (to me, anyhow). I read the last 150 pages or so all in a clip yesterday and was breathing hard by the time I finished the last page.

Lots of themes I'm really into - family, being the foreigner, how location and culture affects the plot, etc. etc. Basically, one of the best reads I've stumbled onto in quite some time!
