That's interesting. Arthritis runs in my family and I started having a tiny bit of it when I was 24 y/o. At 32, I started the Atkins diet, which is rich in meat and fats and low in carbs. One of the side effects was any sign of arthritis went away. Now a days, I know I've eaten too many carbs when my knuckles start hurting.

I'm more than a little over weight (Go ahead say it - FATSO). But my cholesterol and blood pressure has always been low. Pulse is normally around 65.
I have some good eating habits, but others that might kill anyone else. I LOVE a bucket of fried chicken.

Although you may be over weight, you sound like you're very healthy. My guess would be that your fat is surface fat, which although more jiggly, does no harm to your internal organs and general health. If your belly sticks out and is hard to the touch, that's when you need to worry. That means that the excess fat is surrounding your organs.
The running articles were really interesting. Jim Fixx's story is quite curious. I'd love to know what his diet was. Considering the year, my guess it that he was eating low fat, which is also when Americans started getting fat. Coincidence? Or Consequence?
