Not too bad though. Whenever I'd see something on sale that I like, or at least don't mind eating, I'd buy a lot extra and store it after writing the purchase date on top. When I needed something I'd take the oldest marked item, use that and buy a replacement when it was on sale again. A revolving pantry, if you will.
At this point fresh food is a luxury, but I'm making the mortgage payments and paying the bills.
I'm now down to two months of stored food. If I'd had to buy all of that as nitrogen packed "survival food" I could never have afforded it. Change that. I never would have gotten arround to buying it all.
Dinner was a large bowl (lots of water) of Ramen noodles with an egg, and a few more spices, stirred in. But I like Ramen noodles anyway so I don't feel improvised.

I love Ramen noodles! I have lived on them for months at a time in years past. You can "mix & match" so many other ingredients with them!
