Honourable Stitchawl - I think this is the beginning of a wonderful bio that has events which could keep us all reading while our tea gets cold. Further, I think it would be such fun to sit near the hearth with you and to listen to your telling of some of the adventures, like these, that have fashioned your life - perhaps with a wee dram of Bombay Sapphire.
