The best you could hope for would be to push it back underground like it was before Napster got lots of free publicity from the music industry. All the file collectors are probably already there anyway, so it would only affect the readers/samplers. Since those are the type of people who spend a lot of money on legitimate digital content, I think that would be a big mistake.

But I do think it would be really funny to see entertainment industry profits take a dive when all the easy to find download sites are removed.
