My emergency food supplies consist of ready-to-eat products. I don't even bother with cooking, so I don't have to worry about that. I have ample supplies of canned goods: vegetables, fruit, tuna, sardines, hash, chili, soup, etc. I also have beef jerky, assorted crackers, nuts, dried fruit, candy, cookies, granola bars, energy bars, and lots of bottled water.

This is more than adequate for several days without power and avoids the hassle of trying to cook a meal.
