I find Assam to be one of the richest of all the black teas, without being too strong, followed closely by China Black. That China Golden Yunnan you received might be right in the same ballpark. The Keemun teas tend to be very very rich but also very very strong, which is why they so often get used as part of a blend, though I like 'em straight.

So far, Assam and Keemun are my favourites. Which one I drink depends on my mood, time of the day, but mostly on my taste buds and stomach

I give them a choice, they confer and let me know in no uncertain terms which one they prefer. They give me difficult time only when they disagree with each other.
