I have those for Pi, my Newfoundland for doing search and rescue work in the snow. Newfies have a lot of fur on the pads of their paws and between the toes, it is very easy for them to form ice balls which is fairly annoying and kind of painful for them. these help a LOT! they also come in handy if for some reason we have to be on blazing hot asphalt for a long period of time

The slippers do seem practical for use in the snow - which we very, very rarely see here. They will come in useful here for the blazing asphalt. Do your "slippers" have rubber bottoms? The ones that my in-laws got don't, hence the slipping and sliding.
