Device: kindle last gen
Sending files from linux

I just bough a kindle for amazon, I think its a last gen. The problem is I'm a linux guy, yet the the kindle which runs by linux, does not seems to support linux. How can I send files to it from linux? (other than using calibre, and other than using amazon services)

Is there anyway I can download files to it from internet? I mean downloading directly to the device without of any computer? I'm thinking about building a small website(LAMP stack) on my wifi and make kindle download from it.

And is there anyway I can "brick" my kindle from PC? I mean by wrong drivers or by forcing a sync.
