Pocketbook
are rumoured to be presenting a e-ink color Mirasol display at the CES, though it does not look great (at least to me).
As for other types of eye friendly dispalys, as far as I know
Sipix is an alternative to E-ink, but it is much darker than e-ink (look at message 112
in this thread for a comparison).
