Sorry to hear the (not cited) story.
What I don't get is the "I decide" part. I mean - you either forgive someone, or you don't. Or you need "some time" to forgive. But you don't "decide to get over it" on December 24th, so he get's the message. He got it in with the first shouts (if there were any).
If I were him and I read the post here I would get really mad, because of the phrasing. For me it implies that you have actually gotten over it, but now you just keep on rubbing it in, so the message gets clearer. Which sounds just mean.
I do hope I'm misinterpreting the phrasing.
