I didn't ask them for one when they were asking what I wanted. It's not something I usually think about. I always put one on my bikes, and just took it for granted. Not a safety issue as much as a wus problem. I'm a wus. My face is protected by my helmet face shield. It's my chest that gets the cold wind. I'll whip up a leather chest 'dickey' for use for the next couple of days. If there is one thing I have a lot of, it's leather for crafting.

My repair shop called me yesterday to tell me that the damage estimate was $900 USD and the insurance company OK'ed full payment. The repairs should be finished by the end of the month. I'll be leaving here in another three days, and be gone for most of that repair time. I'll be back a day or two before it's finished. No real discomfort.
