If these things are a priority, I think the Nook Color may be a much better option than any of the e-ink readers. Attempting to view craft instructions that involve color and fine detail could leave you frustrated on an e-ink screen. Just note that the Nook Color's 7" screen may not be optimal for viewing some full-page craft instructions that originated in large books.

In this case maybe an iPad would be ideal, aside from the price.
