Sites which charge your card when the order is shipped usually place a lien on your credit card at the time you submit the order. Usually the lien is for more than the transaction total and the retailer does so with no notice to the customer at all.

Another issue was this included a timed rebate from Sony. If they waited until they shipped you would lose the $5o.00 rebate.
My 950 shipped today, and B&H honored the $199 price.
I have no complants about them charging when I ordered.
