If I break my DX I deserve to get a refurb. If DX's had a recurring problem that broke mine and may well have been the reason my refurb is a refurb in the first place, then no, I'll want a new one and I will likely be...erm, insistent about it. After all, why would I trust Asurion to fix a problem that Moto/Google/VZW couldn't find?

That too. Shel's first Blackberry was an Asurion Special. 6 months later the backlight was out.

It's that "same warranty" part that gets weird sometimes. I did check (and I did mention) that the refurb iPads carried the same warranty as a new one, for which I applaud Apple.
Moot point in my case; $50 off isn't enough for me to justify one.
