That and you have to be able to turn off the 3G and the WiFi otherwise it could not be brought on a plane.

Even if you're on WiFi, the 3G modem is active and connected to the cell network. It doesn't disable the 3G modem if you're on WiFi.

That's a good point, ManosHandsOfFate, so something else to consider Pingu. I only read eBooks on my Kindle so have no need to sync between devices, but you would need to keep WiFi on more often if you read books on your phone, Kindle, iPad, etc.
