When I first installed Duokan, I noticed that the date was right, but the time was off. I was only able to set the time in jumps of a couple of hours (!?), so I left it. Now it displays the correct time at the top of each page. It must have synced with Kindle when I restarted. And I assume that Kindle gets its time when you are on the 3G network, which I haven't been on since I installed Duokan.
I really appreciate, Duck, that you brought this to our attention, because it will be a great addition to the Kindle world, either directly, or because Amazon will implement some of their ideas and improve their firmware. Of course, it doesn't look like they will ever update firmware for my Kindle 2, so I may have to depend on Duokan. I registered on their site, as you suggested. I'd like to send them a little thanks. I'm a little worried that, if I use Google Translate, I might be asking someone to have sex with me, rather than politely thanking them.
