@bartveld: Basically, by overriding the FreeType lib used by the Kindle with a custom one, built from a very recent FT snapshot. Turns out Amazon uses an oooooooooold version of FT that's probably patched all to hell (No way to verify that, unfortunately, as it's not part of the source code packages ;/).
Hopefully that'll help with those K3, but the issue may lie elsewhere, so we'll see...
@ryeungo: They're backed up in linkfonts/backups. Caecilia is the Serif family (books), and Helvetica the Sans family (menu). Note that on a K3, by default, the hack doesn't touch the browser fonts.
