It's a type of Assam that I'm told is popular in Germany. I don't know much about it historically/culturally. It has a very strong flavor and smells faintly like pipe tobacco. I get mine from Upton Tea Imports (Item #s TB51, TB52 or TB54) but it looks like Tea Gschwendner sells it, too.
