Mmm...suddenly gone from being a big Kobo fan to a very bewildered purchaser. Now I am afraid to use it and will do everything through Calibre and Adobe DE. And I'd like the books I paid for back working again.
This sounds very odd. Couple of questions:

1. Original Kobo or Kobo Wifi? If Kobo Wifi, try doing a factory reset (Menu > Settings > Advanced), it should unpack a fresh version of your 100 free books. If Original Kobo, see the sticky note at the top of this forum on replacing your database with a fresh new one. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94789

2. Can you give me your ticket number please? I'll get the issue with warranty sorted out.
