To be fair, new RIM products with touchscreen no longer require the user to "click" the screen like the Storm and Storm2 did, and that seems to be most people's problem with them.
On the Torch, RIM has given the touchscreen the same feel as Apple and Android devices. Meaning more inertia for scrolling with bounce at the end. More interaction by swipe and pinch versus mostly by click. And so on.
