Know what I hate about one of our local PBS stations that sometimes plays serious jazz? They always do it in sets that are typically 1/2 hour long and don't announce the artist and song title until the end of the set. Being as most of the time I'm on the road when I'm listening to that station, the end result is that usually I'm not in the vehicle by the time the announcements are made, and even when I am, half the time I've joined in mid-set and have no idea as to what's what. I hear a lot of great music that I would buy if only I knew what I was listening to. Why can't DJs announce the title and artist at the beginning and end of each song? Or is it a case of if you have to ask, you ain't hip enough to know?
