Watching Benny Hill as a kid combined with listening to a bunch of Deep Purple/Whitesnake (the absolute masters of the rock 'n' roll double-entendre) taught me that there was such a thing as a double-meaning. Many writers/singers/artists today insist on running people down with their message (see "American hip-hop artists") in an attempt to out-shock their peers. No one has fun with the language anymore. Warrant was part of an entire generation of bands that took all the irony and double-meanings that Ian Gillan, David Coverdale, David Lee Roth and Steven Tyler made an art form and distilled it all down to "Hey y'all, check these out."
