Since eInk is a reflective technology, it's highly dependent on incident lighting. Thanks for doing those on a scanner, which should impose the same luminance throughout the image. The difference certainly is noticeable, and it's the first comparison I've seen that really bears up the reports of the K3 having whiter backgrounds.
Would it be possible for you to do a similar scan on a page of text? It would have to be the same page in the same font on both to really work.
