I did see some open source software called Chapter & Verse somewhere which lets you create one file with 'Chapter Marks' in it which is essentially what an Audible file does. I don't know about bookmarking or anything, and it probaby would have to be stored in the music folder on the Kindle as I think the audible format is the only one recognised in it's folder.

I have several audiobooks, all are unprotected, I sort of hoped to convert them to a format that they would function on my new K3 as an audiobook, rather than just as an MP3 file (When converted), oh well just an idea,
