I hold the nook with one hand, thumb on button, the rest behind as support. I can't fathom how I would do the same if I had to swipe. Using my other hand to swipe would seem like more effort than just pressing the bottom, where my thumb already rests. IE it seems less efficient, and I do love my efficiency.
Not to mention the better drain.
