Monospace Baskerville? That’s hard to imagine. Are you sure about that? I don’t have access to an iPad, but Baskerville is a classical serif font, definitely not monospaced, unless this is a very strange modified version.

If you care enough about fonts to start a topic on it, I don’t see why you wouldn’t take the trouble to make your own PDF files not only with the right fonts and font sizes embedded, but other good typographical features like kerning, ligatures, and so on. Jellby's ePub to PDF conversion script (now available in a few different versions, searching here at the forums) works well for this. Long live PDF--still the best eBook format for reading (if not for distributing)!
