smartmedia card
Can someone tell me the right kind of smartmedia card for my eBookwise Reader ? I was told that an Olympus XD card will not work. Is this true?

Mine has worked with every card I've put in but have not tried the one from our Olympus C3040-Z.
I currently am using one from JR music, http://www.jr.com/delkin-devices/pe/DEK_DDSMFLS2128/ Has not given me any trouble for over a year. I've had trouble with 32Mb cards failing without warning. Michael |

If you are talking about an xD-Picture card, you were told correctly. Smartmedia and xD are not the same, and although you can supposedly buy adapters that allow them to be used interchangeably, I've never heard of anyone trying this with an eBookwise 1150. Even if it did work, I would think an adapter sticking out the side would make the reader rather clunky. Your best bet is to get the card at 250 Coupe's link for $40, or try to snag one on EBay for $25-$30.
Bottom line, if it just says SmartMedia, you should be okay. If it says xD anywhere, it's not the right kind. |
