ePub keeps pausing to format on page changes
I bought the new Terry Pratchett novel the other day and while the story is as brilliant as you would expect, the actual file itself seems to be acting a bit weird.
Most of the time it seems to be okay, but once in a while it seems to decide its going to need to do the 505 formatting hourglass each time you goto the next page, has anyone seen other files do this before and if so is there a way to avoid this as its a bit annoying. I think the problem is probably related to the way they have implemented the footnotes in the book as they are a link to another page at the back of the book, but am not completely sure. |

I've had this happen on an epub book I bought a couple of months ago. I think it was Fragment by Warren Fahy. Every page or two it would format for a second or so but when the chapter ended it stopped doing it.
I must be down to how the ebook is created and that it takes a little too long for the reader to format the next bit that you are reading. |

It was quite weird, but I did find a way that sort of fixed the problem, once it started to happen I just cycled through the fontsizes and it started to work again properly.

Is this sometimes to be expected? Is there any way to predict which books might cause it? . . . . . Pete |

The most likely reason for that would be a badly-formatted book.
