These stories are written in so fresh a style that you think that they have been created only yesterday, but stem from 1904:

Charles John Cutcliffe Wright Hyne, together with Edgar Rice Burroghs, Arthur Conan Doyle and Otis Adelbert Kline, has been one of the most popular adventure writers of the turn of last century. He was especially famous for his Captain Kettle stories that I plan to upload here, too.
He has, sadly, almost been forgotten by the reading public of today. The reason for this is not too clear in my eyes, as I think that his writing style is really modern and easy to read. This has not been the first posting of one of Hyne's books to MR, though. The eminent uploaders Patricia and RWood have both uploaded one of his books, to date. There are more of his works available online, though some are only on archive.org, which means a lot of work proofreading. Well, anyway, there are more of Hyne's works in my pipeline. |
