It's hardly attractive to me, but if I were serving on a ship with no other source of reading material, it would be a lot better than nothing. I wonder if it is waterproofed?

  • 365 devices will be available
  • Selection includes Tom Clancy and James Patterson (A lot of mystery and spy books...hmmm.)
  • There is no internet, removable storage and no way to add/delete content

It could be inductively charged, if there are truly NO ports.
Or, like just about every rechargeable device of the previous century, it could have a charging port that has nothing to do with data in any way.

There is likely a charge-only port, that connects to the charging circuit and takes an AC adapter rather than a miniplug-type connection.

The ebooks are preloaded before the NeRDs are finally assembled (link).

Findaway World does the same thing with the Playaway devices they distribute.
