C65 thoughts
I am thinking of getting a new ereader to replace my iriver and am getting interested in these two (the Storia and After Glow) as well as Kobo's Aura.
Android sounds interesting, I'm fond of MoonReader+ on my Nexus 7 so it'd be nice if I could use that on my ereader. I have my library on a password protected COPS server, so it must be easy to access that (not a problem if I can use MoonReader+ ), but can the default reading software access a COPS library directly? I can't seem to be able to find any proper reviews on-line, and comments here are a bit confusing. So, simply put: Are they any good? ;-) |

As to the Onyx C65.
I haven't installed MoonReader+, eventhough I did check out their website and noticed this is a paying app. You can sideload *.apk files on the Onyx C65, only if the file will run on Android 2.3. Maybe there is a trial version of Moonreader+ I can take for a spin? As to COPS, if this is the same or similar feature as Calibre's Content Server, then yes you can surf to such webpages. When clicking on a link to an ebook, a dialog is presented which allows you to chose with which ereader you want to open the file. Authentication is also handled. |

So, I just tried to free version of Moon+.
It downloads, it installs and it connects to my local odps server. I guess that's a go ![]() |

The C65 also comes with its own custom brewed reader called Onyx Reader, but this one fails to open epubs from O'Reilly. You can assign a default reader to ope na certain file extension or, while being in the library, you can hold and then 'open with' one of the other programs. Thanks for testing things out fem. It sounds like a good ereader, but I'll probably wait for the T68 and see what sort of reception that gets. I'm not in a hurry, I have a working device after all.
