Eliminate Second Carousel
On a 7" Fire HD 16GB, can you "delete" that second carousel that appears below the main one? That's about the only thing about it that irritates my wife ...

Well, that and not being able to use the Facebook app out of the box and view videos - instead having to use a browser to view them.

Fire HD comes with a Face Book App! She goes under Videos she can watch Amazon Movies no prob More in the YouTube App provided & even more under the Movie clapper app!

In that app, videos that have been posted that are viewable on our original Fire and NOT viewable with the new Fire HD. When talking with Amazon, they suggested using Silk to access Facebook.com, and logging in that way to be able to view those videos.

Haven't tried it yet. But are you able to view everything with no problems using the Facebook app?

I rarely have people post Videos thru FB so Nope havent come across that yet! Amazon has another FaceBook App FREE perhaps that will work.

Unless they've put out an update the only way I know of on the Paperwhite to turn of recommendations is to turn on Parental Controls.

Kindle Paperwhite Update Version 5.3.0

Tap menu-settings-device options-personalize your kindle-recommended content-off.

Thanks, but all I find is restrictions on instant video (I don't even think that video is available on an eink device anyway) and nothing to do with recommendations?

Just turning on Parental Controls disables/disabled it, there is/was no specific setting, but from what NightBird says it looks like you don't need that work around anymore anyway.

On my PW there is no "Device Settings" on the "Settings" menu, there's a "Device Options" and it has no "Recommended Content".
