Add Penabled Eraser Input Support.
Modify Journal to accepting eraser input from a Penabled pen with the eraser feature. This would be beneficial by simplifying and accelerating the cutting or deleting actions. No need to pick an erase mode or function, just let the pen directly designate objects to either cut or delete. Direct eraser support could also assist in maintenance of annotations in documents.
(Yes, selfish, whiny user that I am. I am a programmer and do understand this seemingly minor behavior probably impacts the Journal code quite a bit. ) |

I wonder if this is even possible. Have you gotten any comments from customer support regarding this? I wanted to buy a stylus but I'm not sure if I should invest in the one with eraser. If there is any chance that this can be adapted then it is worth it.

Both of the generic Penabled pens described in this post work fine with the Edge:
http://www.entourageedge.com/forums/...p=292#poststop The stylus ends work the same for both pens and the standard Edge stylus. One of the alternative pens has the eraser button on the end. The eraser is an extra input in the Penabled spec, but many devices don't bother to use it in software. The edge software also currently does not support it. So, if there will never be an enhancement, then it is better to save yourself the $8 difference between the pen with eraser and pen without eraser. |

As I take notes in class on my eDGe, I would really appreciate the ability to erase easily with the stylus. As it is I find myself often scribbling over a mistake rather than erasing it because the professor is flying and I need to write quickly.

I would think support for the eraser feature is technically possible. I hope they do put this on the eventual wishlist! I do have to agree that this is a kick butt feature of tablet PCs and in the early days of owning one, everyone was totally impressed with that feature. It would be a winner.

Definitely this is a big +, stylus with eraser. It would be nice also to make those stylus bigger like a real pen. I don't know if you guys noticed that other stylus won't worked on the E-ink side. I left the stylus once at home and tried to use my kids stylus from the DS, it wouldn't worked.

The Penabled stylus is not just a plastic stick. It's a electronic device powered by the wacom penabled surface. See THIS THREAD for a better replacement stylus.

To keep this thread alive, I'm going to add my support as well. This would make the Edge unstoppable for note-taking. I also just bought an eraser pen before realizing that the main function I got it for will not work :S This would make a HUGE difference to an already amazing class device.
